A translator by training, Valérie’s early working years were both fulfilling and exciting. She began her career in a multinational corporation to work on CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) projects where she was promoted on a regular basis before being sent by her employer to work at their London head office.
Back in Paris, she realized office work no longer provided the satisfaction she aspired to. She needed a new challenge. She had long been attracted to leatherwork and decided to look into it.
She entered a course at Ecole Grégoire-Ferrandi (now La Fabrique) where she successfully completed a CAP (vocational training certificate) in July 2010.
Fascinated by the know-how of artisans and by different materials, she completed a CAP in woodworking at the same time, learnt leather sheathing techniques, and recently trained in gilding.
At the end of 2011, Valérie set up her own leather work shop under the brand leWORKSHOP. Her work changes and evolves with each new skill she discovers and develops.
